At the Siberian Historical Forum, which today began its work in Krasnoyarsk, Igor Spiridenko, chairman of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS), has signed two significant agreements.
One of the agreements is aimed at interaction between the Ministry of Education of Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Krasnoyarsk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society. In accordance with this document, the parties will cooperate in holding outreach and educational events to popularize geographical and historical knowledge: exhibitions, competitions, environmental and scientific and educational events, in the region. One of the largest projects of this kind is the All-Russian Geographical Dictation which has been held annually in Russia since 2015.
In addition, at the forum site, a trilateral agreement on cooperation was signed between the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society, Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Kunstkamera) and the Minusinsk Regional Museum of Local Lore. The organizations that concluded this agreement will unite their efforts in research and educational work, as well as exchange personnel for joint projects.
“Today we are very happy to sign the agreement on cooperation between Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which is the first museum in Russia, and the Minusinsk Museum, whose founding fathers were members of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society,” said Igor Spiridenko, chairman of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society. “The work of the RGS is aimed at encouraging mutual participation and joint actions aimed at improving the quality of geographical education. We intend to continue scientific, educational and cultural cooperation, to exchange practices and information in the field of geography and related sciences, and to promote the development of scientific ties.”
