Note:
Study of Siberian local lore originated in the middle of the nineteenth century. The museums of Minusinsk, Yenisey, Achinsk, Kansk, and Krasnoyarsk play key role in the study of the Yenisey Siberia
The Krasnoyarsk Branch of the East Siberian Department of the Russian Geographical Society was created in 1901 and became the scientific centre for the study of the Yenisey Territory.
The local lore movement reached its peak in the 1920s.
However, under the Stalinist regime of the 1930s, the historical and cultural study of local lore was defeated, and a unique social phenomenon of a century ago was destroyed.
The revival of local lore began only at the turn of the 1980s-1990s and the situation is still difficult.
The last common event of the Yenisey Siberia ethnographers took place in 1931 within the framework of the II Siberian Research Congress. Earlier, the Yenisey Province Local Lore Conference was held in Krasnoyarsk in 1924.
